Restorative Treatment
Restorative treatment is restoring or repairing damaged teeth and replacing missing teeth.
When a tooth is damaged through decay or trauma we restore it with a filling or a crown to repair and maintain what is left of the tooth. Very often we will place white fillings if the tooth is visible when smiling so that we get a good cosmetic result.
Crowns are made from porcelain which is also tooth-coloured, and these may be necessary if there is very little of the tooth left. A crown is very durable and looks like a natural tooth.
If a tooth is missing we sometimes replace it with a restoration similar to a crown that can be bonded to the teeth on either side of the space to get a nice natural appearance.
